Here is the final roundup of my Ghost Cult reviews from 2024, I hope you enjoy. Click the links to read more.
Bird’s View – House of Commando
A decent slab of no frills, 90s influenced Alt Rock from German rockers Bird’s View. Fiery tracks with fuzzy guitars and big hooks that fans of the Foo Fighters, Soundgarden and Queens of the Stone Age will enjoy.
Jerry Cantrell – I Want Blood
Alice in Chains and grunge icon Jerry Cantrell released his fourth solo record in October last year, and it is a moody and pleasingly hefty display of his signature brand of Hard Rock and Metal. Saying that, this touching ballad is my favourite number.
Massive Wagons – Earth To Grace
Earth To Grace is more of the Wagon’s entertaining rock n roll with enough hummable melodies and crunching riffs to shake a stick at, this time with shinier production values and tauter, even catchier songwriting.
Skam – From The Depths
The fourth album from Leicester trio SKAM is a high octane serving of Hard Rock, with a heavy stomp and glossy, big as anything choruses. From The Depths is well made Hard Rock.
Vola – Friend Of A Phantom
Friend Of A Phantom is yet another great record from those Scandi Proggers Vola, it is a dynamic mix of prog rock, metal, electronica and infectious hooks. They do not sit still and they are all the better for it.
