The latest in my semi-regular posts of new songs, and an oldie or two, that have been floating my boat recently – enjoy.
Exodus – Promise You This
The Bay Area thrash veterans, who are rather fond of line up changes, are back with new album Goliath. Coming five years after Persona Non Grata, the stomping ‘Promise You This’ is one of the many servings of burly, old school thrash on offer.
Skindred – Can I Get A
The life affirming, catchy as velcro ‘Can I Get A’ is the latest single from Welsh reggae/metal fusion band Skindred, whose new record You Got This is out on April 17th. Can I get a woop woop.
Jack White – God And The Broken Ribs
He has taken some time out from raging against Trump and the state of modern America to release this organ infused, bluesy rocker with a deep, shuffling groove and plenty of biblical imagery.
Marmozets – Cut Back
After an eight year hiatus British four piece the Marmozets are a going concern again, this boisterous, jerky riffed rocker is one of the handful of singles released in anticipation of their fourth LP Co.War.Dice.
Foo Fighters – Of All People
After the untimely passing of Taylor Hawkins, the cathartic But Here We Are and Dave Grohls extra curricular activities – Saint Dave is human after all – we have the forthcoming record Your Favourite Toy. This track, a punky diatribe about a chance encounter with an old 90s drug dealer, is a sign of the raucous energy to come.
Mountain – Mississippi Queen
A thunderous classic rock track I heard on Planet Rock the other day that needs no introduction.
