Ghost Cult Magazine – Review Roundup.

Posted by

Ghost Cult Magazine is a music site providing all the latest news and reviews for Rock, Metal, Punk, Prog and Indie acts, from the underground to the established. I write for them and here are my latest reviews, click the links to read them in full.

The Dead Daisies Holy Ground.

The hard rock supergroup’s new album Holy Ground came out in January. They might have a new singer, “the voice of rock” Glenn Hughes, but their fifth album sticks to their tried and tested, raucous and riffy sound and yielded good results.

Damon Johnson and The Get Ready – Battle Lessons.

Ex Alice Cooper and, until 2018, Black Star Riders guitarist Damon Johnson is now focusing on his solo career. The result being Battle Lessons; full of hook filled, radio friendly rockers, a few ballads and alternative moments that will please fans of his previous bands.

Royal Blood – Typhoons.

After much delay the Bristolian duos third record saw the light of day last month and it mixes their trademark, loud indie rock with snappy dance to very good effect. It is their best album yet and contains belters like this.

Dirty Honey – Dirty Honey.

Dirty Honey is the Los Angeles bands self titled debut and is a promising collection of 70s loving, Aerosmith, AC/DC and The Black Crowes inspired rock. Keep an eye on these guys.
